Sinful Colors Dotticure

Hey Dolls!

So the other day I was at work and this girl came in with the most gorgeous neon purple polish I had ever seen. So of course I had to ask her what color she was wearing and how I could get my hands on it! Sadly, she did not know the name of it because she had gotten them done somewhere, but thought it was a China Glaze color. Then she also told me that you could get it at Walgreens. I was so confused, because I don't know about your Walgreens, but mine definitely does not carry China Glaze.

After scouring all the China Glaze polish images I could find on the internet,  I had zero success. Bummer right?! Since I had to go to Walgreens anyways I figured I would just look around and see if I could find anything that looked like it at all and low and behold I found it! It was NOT China Glaze though LOL and I already owned it, Go Figure!

I don't think the picture really does the color any justice, but I promise if you saw it in person, you would want it!!! Here is the polishes I used below.

From left to right is Sinful Colors Dream On (yes this was the color I searched and searched for LOL), Sinful Shine Skinny Dip, Illamasqua Scorch, and Zoya Gaia.

I used 3 coats of Dream On on all my fingers except the ring finger. Then I used 1 coat of Scorch and 1 coat of Gaia on my ring finger to get a nice soft golden glowing white. I then used Out The Door Top Coat to seal it all and get it to dry faster.

Next I used a larger ended dotting tool and some of the Scorch polish to make white dots down the center of all of my nails but the ring fingers. Once those dried I took a smaller dotting tool and Skinny Dip to do the small blue dots in the center of each white dot.

Lastly, I took the larger dotting tool and some Dream On polish to make dots in kind of an "S" shape on my ring fingers. I then used the smaller dotting tool to dot Scorch on the center of the Dream on dots and made 2 little dots with Skinny Dip. Then I covered everything with OTD top coat. Pretty quick and easy. I'm so glad I finally figured out what purple she had on or it would have driven me CRAZY!!!

 

Neon Sugar Spun French

Hey gals! I'm back with a super cute neon french! I loved adding the sugar spun detail because it really made the whole thing pop for the summer.

This manicure was probably one of the easiest ones I have ever done. I had to put on about 3 coats of each neon to get them to really show. The neon polishes I used are shown below.

From Left to right is Sinful colors Irish Green and Neon Melon, Dots Neon Orange, Sinful Colors Savage, and Funky Fingers Pop Artist.

I just used a striping black polish whose name escapes me right now. I put a few drops on a plastic baggy and waited for it to dry enough to get sticky and make long strings as you pulled the brush away to give it the spun sugar effect.

Hope you like them! I had a lot of fun doing this one and it really wasn't messy at all. You just need a little patience. Lastly I covered everything with OTD top coat.

Sephora Sale

The Sephora by OPI polish was about 50% off so they were on sale for $4.50 instead of the regular $9.50. The Nails Inc mirror shines were all the way down to $1.99. Lastly the Bling it On Kit in Romance was a steal at only $11.99. I just love the gorgeous bows that come with it! Hope you guys find some awesome deals as well!!!

Summer French

Hello to all my fellow polish loving peeps!


Hope everyone had an awesome 4th of July. I was stuck working but at least we closed by 6 so I could still have a little fun. I haven't gotten around to posting my 4th of July mani yet, but I loved this one I just did way more so I figured since I was late with the 4th of July post anyways what does it matter if it's even later he he he.

This was a very quick and easy manicure using only 2 polishes, Dots (the clothing store) polish in Neon Orange and Sinful Colors Unicorn.

First I used the Neon Orange to do the French manicure. This is one of my favorite polishes to use in the summer because it is so bright and fun. It kind of reminds me of the color of a traffic cone.


Next I used my dotting tool to make the dots along the smile line with Unicorn. What a fun name, but am I the only one who thought it would have some magical sparkles or something in it?!  Lastly I used 2 coats of OTD fast dry top coat to seal it all in and then I could finally go to bed! Whew! Hope y'all are having a great summer :)

Sponge Gradients & Hand painted Trees

Wow 2 days in a row?! I must really be inspired :) More likely I have finally been having some days off from both jobs. You have no idea how much I enjoyed that! Most importantly, to this blog anyways, it also gave me some free time to paint my nails! Yay!

 

 

Lately I have been like borderline obsessed with gray and yellow together. Sorry I don't have the link to show you one of the examples that caught my eye but I loved the yellow and gray sponge gradient and knew I just had try it out for myself. No in the past I feel like I have kind of struggled with getting my sponge gradient to turn out how I wanted. This time around I found 2 very important key points that helped make my gradient 100% better.

1st, once you pick your colors for the gradient take the time to mix blend the section where they touch with a toothpick. This will automatically create a beautifully blended gradient when the sponge picks it up with out you having to do a lot of work with the sponge.

2ndly, wait for your polish to be absolutely dry in between each coat with the sponge. I was never patient enough for this before and often ended up pulling off bits of color with the sponge.

Hope those tips help improve your sponge gradients too! Here is a pic of the polishes I used.

First I painted my nails white using Scorch by Illamaqua with 2 coats so it wasn't streaky. I used a coat of OTD quick dry top coat. 

 

 

As you can see from the polish bottle picture, I only used 2 colors to create each of my gradients. For the purple gradient, I used Sinful Colors polish in Sweet Tooth & Amethyst. The Gray and Yellow was Zoya in Pippa & Kristen.

You can see how well just taking a few seconds to pre mix the polish creates that beautiful gradient. This was two coats of sponging, making sure it was all the way dry before I applied the second.

Lastly I tried to use my Winstonia plates that had an awesome looking tree on plate W102 to stamp on my nails.

I say try because for the life of me I could not get it to stamp properly so in the long run I ended up hand painting with some black nail art polish so that is why they all look a bit different.

 

 

Overall, I was pretty happy with how they turned out. Hope you like them :)

Love Sick Puppy

Hi Gals!!!!

I know it has been some time since I last posted. Sorry, what can I say except that life gets crazy and in the way of doing my nails A LOT. I switched branches where I work full time as well as still keeping my second job from Christmas, so it has definitely taken it's toll on the amount of time I have for not only doing the nail art, but then blogging about it. I definitely admire some of my favorite nail blogs for the amount of dedication it takes to do both every day.

Now that I have apologized, on to the manicure!

For this manicure I knew I wanted to use the gorgeous Love Sick Puppy pink. I decided to do a glitter gradient using another new glitter I ordered from Carwright's, a light mint green glitter called Crème de Menthe. Then for fun I glued on a 3D Lollipop using nail glue. This was a super quick manicure but I am dreading having to take it off... Especially since I had to put a UV Gel Top coat on it to make it smooth. Hope everyone is having a nice summer :)

Celebrating Spring with Butterfly Wings and Zoya's Gabrielle

Hello! I'm so happy that spring is here. Now, if it could only FEEL like it in NW Indiana I would be even happier. Even if it doesn't feel like spring, I can still wear it on my nails!

This was my first attempt at trying to do butterfly wings, so I must admit I was really scared that it would turn out horrible since my free hand skills aren't the best. I must admit, I am in love with this, borderline obsessed. I literally can't stop staring at my hand in disbelief. I can't wait to try this design over even more colors!  

I used what seemed like a billion but was probably more like 5 coats of the Dots nail polish called Light Orange on my thumb, pointer, and pinkie finger. Then I used only two coats of the Dots nail polish in Neon Orange on my middle and ring  finger. Once that dried I put a thin coat of Zoya's Gabrielle on all my fingers which gave it a really  iridescent glittery sheen. I especially liked it over the light orange. This really helped to mute the neon colors a bit. Then I used the black nail art paint to draw the lines for the wings. I actually managed to do my left and right hand reasonably similar even though I am right handed so I was THRILLED! Lastly I used my dotting tool and the white nail art paint to make the dots. What do you think?
