Seeing Navy

Happy Thursday Bloggers! Only a few more days until the Fourth of July, looks like I will have to get cracking on some red, white, and blue nails pretty quickly here. In the mean time I was scoping out Pinterest and saw these adorable navy striped nails that I totally loved. So imagine my surprise when one of my BFF's actually text me a picture of the same exact manicure saying that she found a super cute manicure she thought I should try. So of course then I had to try it!

This was as close as I could get, but man was it time consuming!!! I started with 2 coats of a gorgeous dark/ navy blue by Kleancolor called Neon Sapphire

On the example I was following they easily made their stripes using the Sally Hansen strips found in their French Manicure kit. Unfortunately, I didn't have this, so I was forced to cut up and use scotch tape to tape off the striped sections for white. I felt like this worked pretty well despite all the time it took. For the white polish I used Snow Me White by Sinful Colors which it seems like I always use. (Sadly it's currently the only white polish I own now due to an unfortunate mishap moving all my nail bins to make room for new furniture. Needless to say there were accidentally several polishes harmed during this move since my boyfriend did not know those plastic bins weren't all one piece and came apart. If you think that is bad, you should see my carpet. Agh horrible! I am in the process of watching a million You Tube videos to find the best way to get rid of it.If you have any advice I will gladly accept it! I will have to post a picture of the spill, it is seriously horrifying.)

Then instead of a Red Heart I decided to use a pink. For the hearts I used a hot pink by Sinful Colors that must be pretty old because it was their old bottle design and the sticker with the name was gone (sorry). I just used an old art paint brush to paint on the hearts. Hope you like it! Not quite as good as the one from Pinterest, but it was fun trying! They've been very eye catching at work as many of my customers have loved them., so let me know what you think!

Vacation Dreams

So is it just me or does everyone seem to be on vacation right now?! I know I wish I was. Unfortunately I couldn't afford it this year so I decided to put it one on my nails instead! Also I was dying to try out sponge painting on my nails so this seemed like the perfect excuse!

I started by doing two coats of Sinful Colors' Snow Me White. Then I really debated about whether or not to use a fast dry top coat. I don't know this for sure, but I just felt like it would blend better if I didn't. (If anyone knows the answer to this please feel free to leave it in my comments LOL)

Next I grabbed an unused make up sponge I had laying around to dab on Sinful Colors' Neon Melon (the neon yellow), Hazard (the coral), and Funky Fingers' Pop Artist (the hot pink), trying to blend them. However, it was hard not to get carried away with too much polish on my sponge.

As you can see I was a mess and just got this all over my fingers, but it was still fun! Then I knew I had the perfect tropical plate for the palm trees flowers and pineapples. I used my Konad Stamping plate M29.

Makes me feel a bit more tropical LOL. Then I added yellow rhinestones to the center of the flowers. Just ignore those dry cuticles, that's what happens when you have to use acetone to get rid of all the polish I had everywhere... They are a bit of an eyesore there sorry~

Coral Hazard & Stamping

Hey bloggers! Hope everyone is having a good summer so far! I know I am despite the fact that I am peeling like crazy from my trip to the beach. After having some darker colors I knew I wanted something using three of my favorite colors for summer, Coral, White, and Gold. I had a beautiful Coral by Sinful Colors called Hazard that I had only tried once on my mom's nails so I couldn't wait to try it.

The accent fingers is 2 coats of Snow Me White also by Sinful Colors with two coats of Jewelry Heist by Spoiled. I also sponged on a bit of gold glitter to make the tip a bit more sparkly. This was my first time using Spoiled brand polish. I was always a Walgreens girl having worked there in high school. Since I recently had to switch to CVS Pharmacy you know I couldn't help but peruse their nail polish section too! I really loved Jewelry Heist. I highly recommend it if you like glitter polishes. It is a bunch of golds mixed with some subtle pastel toned glitters. It's kind of hard to tell from this picture. I wish I would have taken one of the bottle.  I couldn't leave enough alone though and decided to stamp on some nail art too! (Hey, I know what you are thinking, but don't judge LOL! At least I didn't add rhinestones on top of that!)

Sorry these all came out a bit blurry... My camera has been super weird lately. Either that or I just couldn't sit still to take the picture! For the stamping I used Konad Stamping Polish in White and my Red Angel plate #104

This is without flash and the following is with flash. I just love the gold on white, even though for the most part I am not usually a gold kinda person.

Boho Summer

I still had some Sinful Colors that I had picked up at the last $.99 sale at Walgreens that I had not tried yet. I am just now getting around to it over 2 months later LOL.

I was going for a kind of summer bohemian look. For this look I first applied 2 coats of  Sinful Colors in Mint Apple.

This is a gorgeous shade of mint green with kind of a gold shimmery undertone. I loved it! Originally I was going to stamp in black on it but once I saw how much I like the color I decided white might look better instead. I used Bundle Monster stamping plate BM20 for the pattern. I'm not sure what you would really call this pattern to describe it. Maybe a lace? Then I used plate BM02 for the flower and attached a rhinestone to the top coat. It turns out I didn't really care for the patterned fingers, but I ended up loving the accent finger. At this point I think it was like 2 in the morning so I didn't even want to think about starting all over again LOL. What do you guys think?

Summer Blues

Ok well not really LOL! But I do absolutely love this blue for summer!

I started with 3 coats of 220 Volts which is this vivid blue by Funky Fingers. It had kind of a jelly look to it which I didn't like at first.

Sorry it's kinda blurry!
But once I added the top coat I was in love! This is with 2 coats of Seche Vite.

Then I taped off my ring finger as an accent nail and applied a Gray Stripe. I bought this gray polish two summers ago from Forever 21 but unfortunately the sticker with the name on it must have come off so I have no idea what it is called. Sorry :( But here's a pic of what it looks like if that helps???

Then once the Gray dried I used one of those Sally Hansen Pens in black to free hand some lines on there. Hope you like it!
