Orly's Charged Up and Sephora/ JCP polish haul

Hello Sunshine (yup we actually still have some this time of year in Indiana)!

Hope everyone is enjoying their fall weather as much as I have been this year! The changing leaves are just gorgeous! Speaking of gorgeous, I got a friends and family coupon for Sephora and used it online to get a plethora of nail goods. Then I discovered that my local JC Penney Salon started selling Essie and Orly polishes as well and since they were buy one get one 50% plus then my discount off, they basically screamed "buy me!" Here's a shot of what I got!

I decided to use the Orly Purple called Charged up since I have been on a big purple kick lately. I used two coats of Charged up on all my nails. I then attached 4 clear rhinestones to the top of each except my ring finger using a clear top coat. For the accented ring finger I used 5 stripes of metallic lavender striping tape. Then covered with my Deborah Lippman Hard Rock top coat. I loved this new top coat because of the gorgeous shine it leaves on my nails that is very long lasting! It also dries surprisingly fast for not being called a fast dry.

What all colors are you all wearing on your nails this fall??? Enjoy your day !!!

Jeannie

Hello!

Long time no see. So much has happened in so little time! But I have definitely missed you all. Hopefully everyone is having a fabulous fall. Now on to my favorite part, the nails! See if you notice anything different in the pics :D

This is two coats of China Glaze's Purr-fect Plum on all my fingers except for the ring fingers which is three coats of OPI's I Don't Give A Rotterdam as the base and two coats of Deborah Lippman's Stronger. I then used a gold glitter nail art polish to do the gold details. Hope you like it!

So did you spot it... yup I got married last month!!!!! I also finally joined the 21st Century and got an instagram account. Follow me at Geniewtdbh on instagram and I am sure you will see some wedding pics :D

Sephora by OPI Gel Polishes

Hello Gorgeous!

Today I have my a quick pic from my 4th of  July mani. The polishes I used were two different Sephora by OPI gels that I got on clearance for $2.99 at my local Sephora inside of JCP. I actually ended up buying their whole gel kit since it was an absolute clearance steal at $32.99. It's original price was well over $150! Worth every penny I tell you. The old UV lamp I had made me cure my gels for atleast 2 minutes while the LED lamp that came in this kit cures in 30 seconds woohoo!!! So imagine my euphoria when I went in today and the gel polishes were marked down to $0.97!!!!

The red polish I used is called High Maintenance and the blue is Opening Night. The bow is from a Nails Inc. kit I got on clearance last year. Hope you gals are having as much luck finding great deals too!

XOXO,

Jeannie

Divergent Make Up Set

Hey Gals!

So I know this blog is usually all about nails, but I just got the large set from the Divergent Make Up Collection and I just had to share. I love it!

First off, they totally hit it out of the park with the packaging. I just love how the Ferris Wheel looks and everything it symbolizes from the book.  BUT, what comes inside of it is even better!

This kit came with so many things it was totally worth the $59.50 at Sephora. The blush, bronzer, and highlighter are what really caught my eye when I first saw this beauty online.

So far in using these products I found all of them to be pretty pigmented and long wearing. The highlighter reminds me of Albatross by Nars and the bronzer reminds me of Casino by Nars.

It also came with 15 different eye shadows. These also wore very nicely and were pigmented well. The three very sparkly "transformer" shades on the left hand side look the best when applied wet I found. I also loved how they each detached and could be attached to a different quad for a multitude of different looks.

This brush worked well with both the face applications and the eye shadows. Both ends were very soft, held the color well, and blended well. It was my first time using a dual ended brush and I thought it was really quick and space saving.

Last but not least we have the glosses! These were amazing too. I found them very similar to Hourglass glosses. They were very sheer and shiny, but not sticky on the lip at all. They paired very nicely with any of the eye shadow looks as well. The kit also came with some demonstration cards showing different looks you could create inspired by the movie. Unfortunately, in my excitement for this post I totally forgot to take a picture of those LOL Whoops! All in all I felt like this kit was a great buy at $59.50 for everything that you receive. Even if you aren't a huge fan of the books or movie like I was, I think you would still like the kit. I bought mine at my local Sephora inside JC Penney, but it was one of the last ones available there. If you're thinking about buy this, you should probably act pretty quickly before their sold out because of course they are limited edition. Hope everyone has a fabulous day!

Wild at Heart Nails Inc Manicure

Hey all!

Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day! I had a great one with my fiance who was quite the chef this year. Here's one last Valentine's manicure that I didn't get a chance to post before the holiday. I was so excited to finally get to use the Nails Inc polishes I got for my 500 point perk from Sephora.

I used two coats of Nails Inc's hot pink Notting Hill Gate on my thumb, middle, and pinkie finger. I just free handed a diagonal. I figured it didn't have to be perfect since I knew I wanted to use an accent strip as well. Then I used a white nail art polish and drew two little slashes to make the white hearts in the corners. I used a gold nail art polish I picked up at Dollar Tree to freehand the gold diagonal line. Lastly I used a hot pink, navy, and gold nail art polish to make the tiger stripes on my pointer and ring finger.

What do you guys think? I ended up really liking this fun manicure. It definitely made me wish spring would hurry up and get here... Especially as we had another white out snow yesterday. Well, that's it for now. Hope everyone has a quick hump day tomorrow!

XOXO

Formula X Valentine Nails

Hey all!!!

I was so excited to get one of the new Formula X The System Kit. It comes with a cleanse step, primer/ base coat step, quick drying top coat, and an empty spot to choose your own shade. I decided to pick a gorgeous red called Fahrenheit. I also got one of Formula X's Xplosive Top Coats called Chaotic. It is a clear top coat with all kinds of Black and White specks.

I loved the bast coat that came with this kit because it dried to a sticky finish and really seemed to hold the polish color on well. I used 2 coats of Fahrenheit on my thumb and pinkie nails, even though it was opaque in 1 coat. I put 3 coats of Sephora by OPI's White Hot on my pointer, middle, and ring finger. Then I used 2 coats of Chaotic on my middle and ring finger. I just love the black and white specks. Almost gives it a marbled effect. Then I used the skinny nail art brushes to create hearts, dots, and stripes. I wasn't entirely happy with the pointer finger since it kinda of reminds me of Adidas for some reason. I finished it all up with a coat of the Top coat was loved how glossy the finish was. Plus it did dry super fast.

All in all I must say I am totally in love with the new Formula X polishes! I can't wait to get more! Hope everyone has a fab Valentines Day!

XOXO

Red, White , & Blue President's Day Manicure

Hello Gorgeous Bloggers!

Hope your day is much warmer than mine has started out today! Sadly, the polar vortex has returned to Northwest Indiana and we are covered in snow again... Oh well not much I can do about it except wake up suuuuuuuuper early to get to work. Seeing as I am not much of a morning person, you can imagine how excited that makes me. Today I figured I would get a head start and begin posting some of my manicures for February. I decided to start with President's day only because it will probably get lost among a see of Valentine's day manicures.

Why do you ask am I so excited for President's Day... I usually am always looking forward to President's day because it's the day the company I work for has it's end of the year meeting and tells us whether or not we get bonuses! So I'll be keeping these Red, White & Blue fingers crossed! (Shortly after taking this picture I noticed I was missing the top of the anchor. WHOOPS!!)

I was so excited at how great my polka dots came out using my dotting tool. Oddly enough, my right hand came out way more symmetrical than my left and I am right handed so go figure! I was also excited to try doing a sugar spun nail. It was kind of messy but not hard at all. It kind of reminded me of the drizzling on top of chocolates. It might be fun to try that for Valentine's Day too.  The blue polish is 2 coats of Color Club's Inst-this (apparently this is my go to blue as it has been in the last two posts LOL) The red polish is one from Sephora I just got by Formula X called Farenheit. I am loving this red!!! Gorgeous right?! And the best part, totally opaque in like 1 coat!!! For the white polish I used Illamasqua's Scorch, although the frugal part of me is wishing I used a less expensive polish to do the sugar spun part with since it used quite a bit. Hope everyone has a fabulous day! As for me I guess I'll go back to trying to dig my car out now that I have defrosted a bit XOXO

Nails Inc Leather Stripes and Color Club Insta-this

Hey Gorgeous Gals!!!

I've got the stuck inside because it's -30 degrees outside, blues. What better way to commemorate that than with a blue manicure for the day LOL.

I also really wanted to try a black and white manicure. For the eye popping blue I used 2 coats of Color Clubs Insta-this on my middle and ring finger. Then I used the Nails Inc Leather polish I found on clearance at my local Sephora for $2.99 on my thumb and pointer finger.  I didn't really care for the finish once it dried, but with a shiny top coat like Out The Door I loved it! I used white striping tape to make the stripes. Finally I used 3 coats of OPI's Wondrous Star on my pinkie for a little bling. Hope this cheers you up as much as it did me. The bow I got in a package off of EBAY for super cheap (like $2 for a pack 30 in varying colors) and glued on using nail glue.

If this weather keeps up I'll probably actually get a bunch more posts done hehehehe! Here's to hoping we see some spring weather in Chicagoland soon!!! Keep warm!

XOXO,

Jeannie

Sephora steals & Zoya Freebies

Hi Loves!

I hope everyone had a fabulous New Years! I had a pretty laid back NYE this year since I had to work both NYE and NY day. Totally drew the short end on that stick! All in all though, it was nice just having a bit of extra time to spend with my fiance. Now on to the goods. Warning though, it's a long post. But if you're not really into make up, just nails, you can totally skip the end LOL

Of course this January I had to take advantage of Zoyas 3 free polishes. It's just so hard to pick only 3. I'm sure they bank on that knowing the more you try their polishes, the more you want. They are that amazing. If you've never tried them, I highly recommend you do. The colors are great, they don't smell much, and they are free of a lot of the harmful chemicals that can be found in a lot of other polishes.

This manicure is Zoya's Bevin on my thumb pointer and middle finger. Isn't is a relaxing pale green/blue/gray color?! On my ring and pinkie finger I used a chevron magnetic polish by Nails Inc called Trifalgar Square. This picture didn't capture the chevron design too well, but it came out so pretty. Definitely the best magnetic polish I have ever used. I couldn't stop staring at it. The silver stud on my middle finger I got in a pack off of Ebay.

Here's a pic of the other Zoya polishes I got for the 3 free sale. They are Blaze, Perrie, & Bevin.

I should also probably tell you that I got the Nails Inc magnetic polish from Sephora on clearance for only $3.99 along with their black Leather Finish polish that was on clearance for $2.99. While I was there, I also cashed in some of my Beauty Insider points for one of their 500 point perks that I think you will like, the Buff and Blush Collection. (Kind of makes me think of the line from Steel Magnolias where she says, "My colors are blush and bashful." LOL)

Gorgeous right! From left to right they are Porchester Square, Nottinghill Gate, & South Molten Street. I can't wait to try these especially since they were free yay!

In case you were wondering what else I bought there... I also got the Lorac Pro Palette to go. I love this brand. My local Sephora inside of JC Penney has their whole Lorac brand 25% off right now so I got a great deal on this!

With the discount it came to about $28! Not bad for everything you get in this. The eye shadows blend amazingly. The blush and bronzer are two of my favorites too. Now I just have to go on vacation somewhere so I have an excuse to take this palette to go!

I was in the market for a new blush too and since I just got the Naked 3 palette I was looking for something to go with the rose hued family. I found exactly what I was looking for in Rockateur by Benefits. It is a gorgeous rose gold hue and it is definitely one of the most beautiful laser-cut designs I have ever seen in a blush. I loved how this blush looked on as well and it did pair very nicely with the Naked 3 just as I had hoped!

Last but not least I grabbed the full size of the They're Real mascara from Benefit. After I tried the mini I got in my birthday gift from Sephora, I was head over heels in love! I have the shortest stubbiest Asian lashes ever and they do not curl whatsoever. This not only made my lashes seem way darker and fuller, but also pulled them upward like they were curled!!! Definitely a must try if you are in the market for a new mascara!

After all that my wallet was pretty empty, but my spirits were high :D Hope you all have a wonderful day and thanks for checking out my blog !

XOXO,

Jeannie
